Abstract:

The etiology of intracranial hemorrhage in the patients with tumors is different from that in the general population and varies among patients with different types of tumors. Clinical and autopsy studies have found that intracranial hemorrhage caused by tumors, including subarachnoid hemorrhage, accounts for approximately 0.9% to 11% of spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage, among which subarachnoid hemorrhage accounts for 22%. They are mainly solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. Currently, studies have demonstrated that tumor-related subarachnoid hemorrhage can be caused by multiple factors such as intratumor hemorrhage, coagulation disorders, cancerous aneurysms, and mechanical trauma. In this review, tumor-related subarachnoid hemorrhage is discussed to clarify its occurrence and development mechanism, so as to improve clinicians' understanding of this disease and reduce clinical misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis.
