Abstract:

Ultrasound examination is non-invasive, real-time, cheap, convenient. It is widely used in neurological diseases. At present, the field of neurosonography is focused on examinining the injury, compression and tumor of peripheral nerves in the limbs. However, little attention has been paid to the nerves in the head and neck. High-frequency ultrasound can display quickly the morphological structure and measure the cross-sectional area of nerves in the head and neck. It is simple, practical and efficient. Neurosonography in the head and neck is of great significance for the early diagnosis, follow-up and dynamic monitoring of some neurological diseases. In view of this, this article reviewed the clinical application of head and neck neurosonography in neurology.
