Abstract:

Thrombosis by electrocoagulation is a key basis of microguidewire electrocoagulation technique. Different physical and chemical properties of embolic materials lead to various pitting potential, metal-ion-induced thrombosis, and intensity of electric heating effect of alloy materials. All ultimately determine the performance of electrocoagulation by affecting the processes of thrombosis and endothelialization of blood vessels. This review summarizes the relevant researches and discusses progress of the influences of physical and chemical properties of metal materials on the thrombosis by electrocoagulation.
