Abstract:

Stroke is a group of neurological diseases with high incidence worldwide, and the high disability rate of it has also made it a hot spot in the field of neuroscience. Skeletal muscle is the main functional organ of disability after stroke. Previous studies on stroke have focused on the nervous system, but relatively little is known about the structural, metabolic and functional changes of muscle tissue after stroke. This article reviews the latest progress in the pathogenesis and evaluation of stroke-related sarcopenia in order to provide insights for treatment and rehabilitation of stroke.
