Abstract:

Endovascular treatment (EVT) has become the standard treatment for acute ischemic stroke caused by large vessel occlusion, and the field of neurointervention in China has achieved rapid development in the past decade. The publication of the "Chinese guidelines for endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke 2023" laid the evidence-based foundation for this field, while the publication of the "Chinese expert consensus on endovascular treatment techniques for acute ischemic stroke 2025" (hereinafter referred to as the "Consensus") marks a further step towards "technical refinement" and "operational standardization" in the field of EVT in China. Based on the core content of the Consensus and combined with the latest evidence, this article reviews and comments on six aspects: consensus highlights, vascular access selection, optimization of thrombectomy techniques, etiology-directed strategies, thrombectomy for medium vessel occlusion, and challenges and prospects, in order to clarify the practical value of the consensus and the future development direction of this field.

Key words: Acute ischemic stroke, Endovascular treatment, Expert consensus, Thrombectomy, Etiology-directed strategy
