The relationship between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and stroke has been the subject of many studies. On the one hand, OSA, as a modifiable risk factor, increases the risk of stroke. On the other hand, stroke could potentially disrupt sleep networks and presents with sleep-disordered breathing mainly including OSA, which might increase stroke recurrence and mortality. In this review, we discusses the bidirectional interaction between OSA and stroke.
